| Character
History Gloria lived
with her parents in North Dakota until she started to go blind at the
age of 12. They sent her to live with her grandfather in New Jersey so
that she could attend the St. Joseph's School for the Blind in Jersey
City. Gloria lived with her grandfather until he died when she was 19-
for a while, she maintained his house and stayed there. But when her
vision continued to worsen, she could no longer hold a steady job that
paid enough to keep the house and pay taxes- it was sold to pay off the
debts. Most recently, she had been living at the Lewis Women's Shelter in
Queens when one day she met an enchanting stranger who turned her life around and restored her sight.
