Series Premise: The epic story of a cactus who suffers through the trials and tribulations of living with a band of musicians in the very strange town of Strangetown. Follow the wacky adventures of the Simkees as they play their music, water their Cactus, and discover the mysteries of life.
A special STV presentation introducing viewers to the Simkees cast. Noticeably absent from the special is Cactus, who hadn't yet come in for filming due to a previous engagement (playing 'Lone Desert Cactus' in the film Sim City).
In this pilot episode, Jonas and Edna Kee give their freeloading sons the boot. The Simkees are forced to pool their meager simoleaos and leave Pleasantview for Strangetown.

Once thought of as a mere inanimate object, Cactus has really blossomed. He now has his own fanclub, and receives more mail than the rest of the Simkees combined. He doesn't let success go to his spines, however. Cactus is a very down-to-earth individual who is quick to lend a trunk to lean on (though he can be a bit prickly). |

Mr. Bearington - Peter's childhood bear. We're reasonably sure he's not sentient, but considering the cactus...
Grim Reaper - Despite his job title, he's not entirely humorless. He does, however, have quite the busy schedule.
Vicund Curious - Love interest of Peter, this alien researcher is always on the edge of some new discovery. Vicund lives with his brother Lazlo just down the road from the Simkees.
Lazlo Curious - Brother of Vicund, fellow researcher.
Pascal Curious - The other Curious brother, Pascal lives next door. Pascal lives with his partner Nervous Subject and his alien son Altair.
Jenny (nee Curious) Smith - Sister of the Curious brothers, Jenny married an alien and had his offspring the non-probe way. Jenny gives good advice, and hugs.
Nervous Subject - Pascal's partner, a nervous and reclusive man. Nervous Subject spent most of his formative years as the captive of Circe and Loki Beaker, and is a bit damaged.
Altair Curious - Son of Pascal, this little green guy is smart for his age and very curious.
Gloria Michaels - A lovely lady, who is happily married to Evan Michaels (known as "E"); Gloria is NOT interested in Davy (despite what he thinks).
