Previously, on Buffy:  Seasons 1 through 5 happened. Buffy died. Giles departed early for England. The Buffybot was never rebuilt. Willow and Tara became Dawn's legal guardians. Summer ended. School started... and two, count them, Slayers arrived on the Sunnydale scene: Bambi LaRue, a cutesy bimbo who has yet to lose that bubbly charm; and Tamara Kennedy, a three-years-running Slayer who has some field experience and training. Tamara's Watcher, Cory Albright, settled in Sunnydale to train them to face the many perils of a Sunnydale lifestyle (classes, vampires, and the occasional apocalypse beckoning.) The Original Cast is still mostly in the area, although many of them are in various shades of unhappy and withdrawn. Bambi's personality has not helped this any. Cory purchased a house in Sunnydale, into which he and both Slayers moved. The house was big for just the three of them... but it wasn't about to stay so empty for very long at all. Bambi was making friends at school - inlcuding a new best friend, Danielle Pfieffer, who started spending so much time at the house that it seemed liked she lived there. Danielle is an aspiring witch, though she has some Wiccan issues - and personality problems. Julius Desmond,  was nearly killed during Sweeps Week, and has been a frequent visitor ever since. Julius's strong suit is computers - it was he who gave the group their name, The Last (as in, the last line of defence the citizens of Sunnydale have standing between them and getting gished.) The Albright house was promptly christened "The Last Resort", much to Cory's chagrin. The first permanent resident to be added to the house after the orignial three was Spike, lured out of his crypt by love of Tamara (and her infamous backrubs). In a later episode, Hannah Maxwell, the school language teacher, was brought home by Bambi to work on the translation of some mysterious runes. Hannah and Cory hit it off, and when he found out her desperate financial straits, he invited her and her younger brother, Kevin, to move in. Kevin Maxwell loves the new place - it's got a great basement, after all. Perfect for practicing with his band, Never Cry Wolf, and also great for being chained in during 'that time of the month'. Being a werewolf has its problems. Another addition to the team was Xavier Holderan, an LA cop who was  transfered to Sunnydale after a strange incident with a criminal that just wouldn't stay dead, and his girlfriend, Dr. Sian Wu. The old Last Resort was sold after a particularly damaging adventure- and a bigger, bettter place was bought. Other additions included Ming- a Chinese Potential, Marcus- Bambi's Watcher-slash-boyfriend, and basement dwellers such as Clem, Marie and Eric.  The new Last Resort is now brimming with people, and most of the time, this is a happy, companionable thing... until there's a line at the bathroom, or a breakfast theif. Well, life isn't perfect... but the Last do the best they can to prevent the citizens of Sunnydale from meeting unpleasant fates. Saving the world, one staking at a time.

Character  Description Reliability
Spike

"I was a bad-ass vampire once - then, love, and a pesty chip, defanged me." A Big Bad turned Big Neutral, Spike's major goal is to keep his promise to Buffy, in taking care of her sister, Dawn.

Spike is romantically attached to Tamara, and will likely intervene in situations where she is directly in trouble, and help her get violent. However, he also has the occasional tendency to sod off about his own business, and occasionally just feels like being unhelpful.

9
Xander

"I don't like vampires. I'm going to take a stand and say they're not good." The penultimate of all White Hats, Xander has actually become a competent person over the years of dealing with the supernatural. Of course, he's also the leader of the Buffy fan club, so to speak, and isn't happy about her demise and replacement.

Xander actually misses the whole 'fighting evil' thing to some extent, but only very rarely (a natural 1) will directly involve himself in physical combat.

5
Anya

"It is customary to purchase objects when making a demand for information upon a shopkeeper." Formerly a vengeance demon, presently just a quirky human who fears bunnies and loves money, Anya is Xander's betrothed - however, they've yet to announce a date.

Anya doesn't really like the new Slayers any more than the old Slayer; however, she is actually much more reliable than her number suggests if she's getting paid for her services.

1
Willow

"Okay, so maybe the quick way of casting wasn't the best..."
Willow is a very powerful witch, and exceptionally bright; fortunately, she hasn't gone veiny and psychotic or tried to erase everyone's memories. Yet. She's simply living blissfully with Tara, taking care of Dawn, and pursuing her college degree at University of Sunnydale.

Willow is Dawn's legal guardian, and if Dawn gets into trouble, Willow will do what's necessary to save her (or any of her other friends, for that matter.)

4
Tara

"I don't think it's a good idea to use magic to solve everything." Ever the cautionary, Tara worries that Willow's power may grow to consume her someday, and is using this 'new Slayers' opportunity to attempt to keep Willow out of the witchies.

Tara is pacifistic, and tries to avoid major combat / conflict scenes. She generally tries to keep Willow and Dawn out of the supernatural.

4
Dawn

"They think I'm just an ordinary kid. Nothing's ordinary about my life..." With a fair helping of Buffy's angstistential spirit and her own problems (being the Key to an alternate dimension of hell, having mild kleptomaniacal issues, eighth grade), Dawn is not always the most cheerful and optimistic Sunnydale resident. However, she's usually helpful and friendly as long as people are paying attention to her.

Dawn likes dropping in to see what Spike's up to - though she isn't very understanding of Spike's abrupt change of interests.

5
Giles

"She's a hero - she's not like us." Giles was Buffy's Watcher; now that she's passed into the hereafter, he's returned to merry olde England, and therefore, is completely unreliable.

Giles has not returned to the Council of Watchers, but his name is still well-known amongst other Watchers, including Cory.

0
Clem

"You can sit in the comfy chair!" After Clem's former choice of digs got rudely disturbed by a Djinn-powered necromancer, Clem took up lodging with the members of the Last. While this may seem to be a big waste of resources, Clem is an excellent Kitten Poker player, and doesn't happen to have Spike's reputation as a demon-killer. Can't we all just get along? Reliability is halved for anything truly physical, though, unless a matter of obvious necessity.
6
Warren

"Of course not. We figured you'd either kill him or let him go eventually. You're the good guys, after all." Warren is a highly intelligent, yet poorly understood, mastermind who tends to use his powers of superscience for self-aggrandizement. Unfortunately, this means he may be less than helpful to party members - but occasionally, he's in a helpful mood.
3
Jonathan

"That's okay... I had a drink before I was kidnapped." Jonathan is a competent spellcaster, but his social ineptitude often gets in his way of success. He is presently holding a relationship with one of Warren's projects - 'Rebecca' - and this keeps him happy and out of harm's way. He has a magic bone.
10
Andrew

"And they'll be all like 'Oh, Andrew! Your mighty summoning power!' "Andrew is the token gay member of the group. Except that he has a girlfriend and stares at breasts in titty bars. Well, okay, he can summon stuff. Sometimes. Maybe. Well... he once called upon flying monkeys, and conducted a seance...

Original Cast who have no direct involvement in a situation get a new stat, Reliability. This controls the character's willingness and ability to help (Xander: "I've got a foundation to dig, ladies. Sorry."), varies from zero to ten, and represents the chance that the character will serve as a contact or ally. A zero implies the Cast Member has left Sunnydale entirely or is actively avoiding the New Cast, whereas a 10 implies Scooby status. Reliability rises and falls due to Episode events. In some cases, a Guest Star is unavailable for other reasons - no roll is necessary. Smart Casts can usually track these originals down for a chat, though.
