Tamara Kennedy: Slayer

Tamara Kennedy wanted nothing more than to grow up and be an artist - but another fate was in store for her. When Faith flatlined briefly while in a coma, Tamara recieved the Slayer calling. A Watcher, Cory Albright, was quickly dispatched. Despite their rough begining, Cory has been Tamara's rock ever since. At 19, Tamara has three years of experience staking vampires in New York City, but has never experienced anything quite like the Hellmouth. Called to the area by the Council of Watchers after Buffy's death, she's done her best to keep things under control and get on with the other slayer, Bambi, and the rest of the Lost. A quiet, introspective person by nature, she was often troubled by reocurring dreams and the occasional vision- until her nightmares were calmed by Spike, and her visions were transfered to Julius. Her keen intellect makes her a good strategist, and many of her battles are won by wit and not pure strength alone. Tamara is very much in love with Spike, with an intensity that occasionally disturbs other members of the Last and borders on obession. The members of the Last that she's closest to are Spike, Cory, and Xavier. She prefers swords over stakes, and wields a fine piece of Toledo steel in battle. There is an undeniably attractive quality to Tamara, not so much her physical appearance, but a strong charismatic force of will. Tamara constantly wears an odd necklace with two chains and a charm that seems to be fused together (though it was once two pieces) - an infinity symbol with 'Forever' enscribed on one side, and "Brian and Emily" on the other.

History:
Tamara Kenedy was born on May 18th, the only child of Anthony and Deborah Kennedy, in New York City. The family business was a little pizza place where Tamara helped out when she was old enough. From a very early age, Tamra displayed artistic talent, which both of her parents encouraged enthusiastically. She loved to paint watercolors and oil paintings, and by the time she started high school (a special one for the visual and performing arts), she was already recieving high praise for her work. She was a popular, if somewhat quiet girl in school, and a good student. She always achieved high marks. She had a boyfriend, and a close circle of friends - to all appearances, a normal life. Then, one day, when she was about 15, it happened. A strange man started following her around. She was afraid to the point that she started carrying mace. When the strange man finally approached her, saying that she was "Chosen to fight the vampires" she sprayed him right in the eyes and gave him a good swift kick to the nuts. She ran home to tell her parents about it, but a horrific sight assaulted her eyes when she opened the door. Her parents' charred, smoldering corpses, to be exact. Written in their blood on the wall was, "We're coming from you, Slayer." Suddenly the odd man was there, and she was collapsing into his arms, fainting dead away. She awoke in a hotel room, and learned that the man, Cory Albright, was a Watcher. Her Watcher, to be precise - and she was, indeed, the Slayer. Some three years of training and bonding commenced- now Cory is her family, her security, her home. The Council of Watchers summoned them to Sunnydale after Buffy's death - and Tamara was surprised to find another Slayer arriving on the scene as well.  She's been setting into life with the Last, learning to accept a larger group into what she considers 'family'. Perhaps the biggest change in her life recently is her relationship with Spike. She found that she could identify with the vampire, as they had both lost people they loved, and had some other personality issues in common. She began to spend time at the Crypt, time spent talking (with the occasional backrub thrown in). One night, they found themselves kissing.. and never looked back. Spike abandoned the crypt and moved in with Tamara. He brings her a comfort and hope that she clings too almost desperately at times, a belief that despite the darkness, some light does endure.
