Studio Life
Need to know more about life on the 4-D Studio Lot? This is just the place to go to learn more.
Amora Legal and Talent
Amora Legal and Talent is the firm responsible for supplying The Director with a seemingly endless supply of Extras and Actors when the talent is running short. Unfortunately, most of ALT's staff are strictly second-rate (or worse), and as a result, the Director generally goes through them at a fairly steady clip. However, there is a fairly stable pool of second-string actors that the Director employs to fill in for roles on a recurring basis.
The Director's Staff
The Director has a staff of lesser workers who generally handle the menial responsibility of keeping 4-D Studios neat and clean, herding actors to the sets for filming, and providing their assistance in any other way necessary. The assistants are (presumed to be) perfectly ordinary humans with no acting talents at all.
Ellen Harvey is one of the staff members; her job responsibility is to coordinate actors and make sure they are on stage (and to inform The Director when things aren't going well). As such, she is the staff member who brings good or bad news most often.
The Actor's Lounge
The Actor's Lounge gives Actors a place to unwind between shoots, and is located near The Filming Areas (right across from Studio B4, to be precise). Here Actors can get out of those costumes and just talk about how things are going, or plot what they're going to wear to the award ceremonies...
The Agent's Club
The Agent's Club is a restaurant in the southwestern section of 4-D Studios where the various Agents tend to meet up and discuss their Actors, their careers, and pretty much everything else. While Actors come and go, the Agents who bring them to stardom or ruin often remain the same.
The Filming Areas
The Filming Areas are a series of stage areas located near the center of the studio lot. Due to the Director's fondness for creativity and improvisation, Actors make their own decisions on how to perform the roles given to them within the Filming Areas. Of course, the better you play your role, the more likely you'll be to remain on-air... Some Actors say that they feel like, when the cameras are on, they're so caught up in their role that they forget the outside world. It's truly a magical atmosphere for filming.
4-D Studios Offices
The 4-D Studios Offices serve many important roles, not the least of which involve negotiating contracts with The Network. Interestingly, no actual network is ever identified; it is presumed that 4-D actually markets to a number of different channels as the situation permits, and at any rate, they have to be getting their money from somewhere, right? The various staff at 4-D Studios all have little offices within this building somewhere, mostly on the first three floors. It's believed that there is a Director's Lounge on the fourth floor that caters to the various directors in charge of individual shows, but as most actors never enter this building, it's more rumor than fact.
The Casting Office
The Casting Office is actually a small enclosed stage area on the eastern end of the studio, well away from the tabloids and strife of the main studio. The Casting Office is where the Director (or his underlings) interview and screen-test actors, looking for the freshest talent.
The Press Box
The Press Box is a large newsstand located on the western side of 4-D Studios, which also maintains an active record of what's what and who's who. Despite all complaints to the contrary, the Press Box does sell Glib Beat, the local tabloid periodical that openly gossips on Actor goings-on. It also keeps an unofficial tally of Network Ratings of the various Shows, and lists other news of potential interest to Actors, such as Award Ceremonies, hints about future Shows in the works, new Genres to be added to 4-D Studios' lineup, and so forth.
Glib Beat
Glib Beat is the local trash tabloid, with representatives roaming throughout the studio hoping to catch actors in compromising or publication-worthy positions. The Director seems to tolerate them and their business, although Security does regularly escort them off the property when they find them, and has standing orders to do so whenever they are found.
